Kate & Alice Year 4 the rusty gate creaked

I was going on an epic adventure to the woods. It was an adventure because no one had ever been there before.  However, when I got there I found a gate in the entrance. Then I saw a tatty, old sign above the gate that read: BEWARE! This wood is cursed by the ghost of Toby Trafford! I was awestruck. My best friend was called Toby Trafford! I decided to venture in… The rusty gate creaked as I cautiously pushed it open into the wild wood.  I could not believe my eyes. THERE WERE TREES EVERYWHERE! But then disaster struck…..

  1. Hi Kate and Alice. I love the part of your story where we find out that your character’s best friend was called Toby Trafford – I laughed out loud. You use lots of carefully chosen descriptive vocabulary – the tatty, old sign above the gate, the verbs ‘venture’ and ‘cursed’, the adverb ‘cautiously’. Well done and keep entering the 100 word challenge.
