In preparation for entering the 100 word challenge after half term, Year 4 have been practising writing stories with 100 words.
The 100 word challenge (known as the 100WC) is a piece of writing set by a former headteacher, Julia Skinner, who provides a prompt and asks the children to write about it using a maximum of 100 words. The children’s writing is then put on the blog and people – teachers, other children and so on, from other schools – look at it and comment. It is wonderful when somebody reads your work, and great to get a positive and helpful comment.
However, it’s not as easy as you might think and Mrs Fine’s writing class have been working hard on getting it right. The children would love you to read their stories and let them know if you enjoyed them.
